HKU Launches Career Month 2026 and Spring Career Fair: Connecting Talent, Creating Impact
26 Jan 2026
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has officially launched Career Month 2026 with the opening of the “Spring Career Fair 2026,” highlighting the University’s commitment to empowering students for their future careers. Organised by the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS), this marks the second Career Fair of the academic year, reflecting robust and growing demand from both students and employers.
As the cornerstone of Career Month, this year’s Spring Career Fair holds particular significance, featuring 34 leading employers each day and a total of over 150 organisations throughout the week. The Fair presents more than 15,000 job openings and internship opportunities across finance, technology, consulting, engineering, consumer goods, public service, and more.
Furthermore, the Career Month covers a thoughtfully curated series of events designed to support students as they navigate their journey from campus to the professional world. Activities include the “Smart Preparation for Career Fair” Workshop, Beyond Borders Experience Sharing and Internship Briefings, Non-local Student Career Preparation Series, Sector Spotlight and Industry Insights Sharing, as well as Company Visits in the Greater Bay Area. The Career Month Event Passport is introduced this year, encouraging students to engage with different activities, gain diverse perspectives, and collect stamps for exciting gifts.
Professor Kelvin Yeung, Dean of Student Affairs, remarked, “This flagship Career Fair event demonstrates the ongoing support and confidence that employers have in the potential of HKU students, resulting in its transition to a biannual format. Recognising the evolving needs of the job market, we will continue to develop the essential qualities and future-ready skills of HKU students, ensuring they are well-prepared to make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields.”
Employers supported the initiative for enhancing talent development and partnership:
Ms Cherry Ho, Talent Acquisition Manager - Strategic Partnership & Governance of Cathay, said, “The HKU Career Fair provides a valuable opportunity for us to connect with students who are passionate about shaping the future of aviation. Their aspirations and capabilities continue to inspire us, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the University as we nurture future talent.”
Ms, Stacy Liao, Head of People of China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited, expressed, “Our partnership with HKU has always brought us exceptional talent. The diversity and drive of the students at the events during Career Month reinforce our belief in the value of strong university-employer collaboration.”
As Career Month unfolds, HKU remains dedicated to connecting students with industry leaders and equipping them with the skills necessary to excel in their careers. The University encourages all students to participate actively in the events and take full advantage of the opportunities available throughout this transformative month.
