The University of Hong Kong (HKU), as a strategic partner of the Future Science Prize Week this year, congratulates eight new Future Science Prize Laureates in the fields of life sciences, physical sciences, and mathematics. An award announcement ceremony was held in Hong Kong today (August 16).
HKU consistently demonstrates its commitment to academic excellence, global engagement, and social responsibility. Its strategic partnership with the Future Science Prize highlights its dedication to advancing scientific research and fostering collaborations with esteemed organisations worldwide.
In October, the Future Science Prize Week will be held in in Hong Kong for the first time. As a strategic partner, HKU will organise the Asian Young Scientist Fellowship Annual Conference with the Foundation on October 16. Twelve laureates of the "Asian Young Scientists Project Fund" in 2023 from top universities in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and China will be invited to attend the Conference to present their research findings. Additionally, approximately 300 young scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and educators from Hong Kong, Mainland and other parts of the world will be invited to participate in the Conference, allowing these young elite scientists to discuss how to leverage science in tackling major issues that mankind is currently facing.
“We believe that these will turn a new page for the development of scientific research and the nurturing of talents in Hong Kong,” said Ms Isabella Wong, Associate Vice President (China Affairs) of HKU at the award ceremony.
“HKU strive to promote scientific research and nurture future scientists. Apart from fostering a desirable academic environment and providing opportunities for the younger generation, we also shoulder the responsibility to lay solid foundation for their future development and show them the possible way forward.” Ms Wong added.
